Free Swimming for Sheffield over 60's and under 16's

Lib Dem Council has rejeced the Government’s offer of free grants to provide free swimming for over-60s and under-16s.  Sign the petition which believes Sheffield people are treated fairly – and like people in Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster – should have free swimming for over-60s and under-16s from April 2009.  The petition calls upon Sheffield’s Lib Dem councillors to reverse their decision immediately and ensure free swimming is provided in Sheffield for over-60s and under-16s from April 2009.

  1. Mrs. K.M. Smythe says:

I think Sheffield Council should take appropriate action to promote free swimming for over 60’s and under 16’s

  2. Fiona Nicholson says:

I think Sheffield should be involved in the free swimming, as this would encourage a healthy lifestyle and alos get young [people off the streets and involved in a more worth while activity. As a parent of three under 16’s it is hard to have money all the time to allow your children to take part in leisure sactivitys this would be ideal. My sister who klives in Rotherham already recieves this and her daughter uses the advantage regulary, why should our children miss out.
