RAE Ingenious Transport EventFollow-up meeting notes: 26th January 2012

Transport event follow-up met to develop proposals from our RAE Ingenious funded Crowd Wise Transport event on 6th December 2011.

As can be seen from our notes, two event groups merged to focus on their passion to improve information and efficiency of our transport systems. Common interests to improve local transport systems, increase take up of public transport, reduce reliance on cars resulted out of passionate citizenship about Sheffield, a keen desire for cheaper fares, effective use of data inputs/outputs to improve transport information systems, better use of railway services, more education on tram benefits and balance between cost of fuel and time.

Sheffield City Council’s Sheffield on the Move, invited Action for Involvement to organise a joint event on Reducing Car Dependency in January 2011 attended by nearly 100 people and our  Joint Report fed in to LTP 2.

Sheffield on the Move/the Motorist’s Forum hold quarterly meetings at The Town Hall, Sheffield City Council.  Sheffield Chamber of Commerce have a Transport Group, chaired by Tim Hale.
