We’ve just completed a piece of public engagement development work at the Deep in Hull with our Trainer, Katie Norman from the University of Hull which was lots of fun, a very long day and challenging.
Developing confidence in just going up to total strangers and saying “Hi would you like to see Mario Brothers played with bananas? or “Listen to this amazing sound? Have you ever heard anything like it” as we bounce a slinky on the floor after tying two pieces of string at the same end and then wrap the string round the index finger of each hand and then put those fingers in to our ears. Sound is truly awesome. Will take a photo image as soon as to upload for another post – prob on Sunday
RAEngISched15Oct as at 15th October, Public Engagement/Science Busking, KS2 & KS3 school activity workshops and Project Overview as at 1Oct13.
Basis and rationale for our project evolved out of our RAEng Ingenious Crowd Wise project “I Cant be an Engineer. I’m a Girl!”
And below are some photos of engineers getting stuck in to the task of reviewing the Cambridge Brain Box Kit for Electronic Engineering and figuring out the component parts we’ll use at our Magna Science Centre pop-up event on Thursday 31st October.
