Having received a Royal Academy of Engineering Ingenious Grant for engineers to share their passion for engineering with a diverse audience, mainly young people, we are excited by our themes of Sports Engineering and Electronic Engineering. These activities will take our engineers into two 5-a-side tournaments, into four schools as well as getting out and about with four pop-up stalls at the Magna Centre, Winter Gardens, Sheffield College with a fourth venue to be confirmed.
Where possible, University of Sheffield AMRC/NMRC will support our events with their Mantra Bus – a spectacular vehicle for public engagement. We just need four engineers for each event between October to December.
All engineers will have FREE CPD in public engagement training PLUS FREE light refreshments. For more details, please email tony.mullin@communitask.co.uk or Wendy Stern, info@actionforinvolvement.org.uk or call us on 07946 453 258.
Full project details in our RAEI Project Overview plus details of our public engagement Skills Training.
We are very keen to recruit engineers from a wide range of electronic engineering backgrounds so our participants, mainly young people, will be able to see the diverse and rewarding career oppoprtunities. An idea of the engineering spectrum we covered during our Crowd Wise project during 2011/12 can be seen in some of the event packs that we prepared for that series of events:
Just need to find our event pack on water – the most important resource on our planet without which we’d all fade into the ether.
